Official Nominations Thread
Ok everyone, this is the official thread for nominations. Starting from today (Friday, July 12, 2002), until the evening of Friday, July 19, 2002 we will be conducting nominations. State the person (or program, website, etc.) you wish to nominate, which catagory you're nominating them for, and why you think they should be nominated. Please only nominate one person (or program, website, etc.) for each catagory. Remember, you don't have to nominate someone for every catagory. After we've reached the deadline, I'll close the thread and we'll go from there. Make sure you check out the Keen Awards thread before you nominate.
Just for a reminder, here's the catagories we have set out (thanks to TMST).
Categories:
1: Programming
1.1: Best Mod of an original Keen game
1.2: Best Fan-game
1.3: Best Editor
2: Fan Art
2.1: Best Graphical Artwork
2.2: Best Narrative

4.2: Really Keen Stuff (something great that came out of the blue)

I think this is being done all wrong.
This is too chaotic, nothing will get done unless this get's really organized. Firstly, the Keen Council needs to decide on a max of 5 Nominees per catagory. They need to them post the nominees here. Then everyone who chooses to vote will send Cho'gall (assuming he's cool with it their votes, after 1-2 weeks Cho'gey will add everything up and the awards will be given.

Maybe...
I think what were doing right now is just posting our nominees, then Cho'gall or Flaose will make up a poll for each award using the top nominees chosen. THEN well vote for who gets the award out of those top 3? nominees. I thought that was what was going to happen, but I could be wrong.

I was going to have it so that all the nominees were put into a poll for each catagory, then voted on, then the top 3 winners in the polls will be judged by our judge(s).

2.5: The "CK" t-shirts by... who was it again? There was a photo of a guy & a girl wearing them.
3.2: Korath III's SGA Translator & HangKeen
4.2 (New category: "Really Keen Stuff"): Whoever it was that discovered the bug in Keen VI where you fall, shoot down, land on your shot, then shoot up and fly. Finding something as unlikely as that deserves some sort of "There Is No Spoon" award.
(I can't believe it - The Universe Is Toast is outdoing "Commander Keen: 10 Years On"!)

I think this award is being misunderstood, in my opinion it’s a cumulative award for the person who’s contributed the most; however it’s being treated like the best administrator award. I don’t mind really but maybe the two should be split.

I'm going to do something a little different here. The nominations I'm putting down are not necessarily the ones that I consider most deserving of the award (although some of them are). I'm just putting down some alternate choices that are different than the ones people have been putting down so far.

2.2: The Fanfic on this ezBoard that involved the Smurfs (along with several people on the board here)

3.1: CK Nexus (for the short time it was being updated)

I think that 4.1 should be what it was originally said to be - the Keenest person of the year. It could be TMST for his comics, Adurdin for his programs, or even, as Forge315 put it, "KeenRush (didn?t even have to think about it, always struck me as Billy?s duplicate anyway!)".
That's what I think. But whatever. Just someone who, in each individual's mind, represents all that is Keen.
