The M-Files- The Twisted
World of Mortimer McMire
The M-Files in a one-of-a-kind
website. With it's unique idea, and nice graphics & music, it's
one of the most original ideas I've seen in a long time. The Website
starts out with a VERY nice image with Mortimer McMire facing Keen.
You see, that's what the whole website revolves around. Mortimer
McMire! The website of course is not finished yet, but it's being
updated as we speak. But you are given the physical records of Mortimer,
for instances height, and date of birth, which is unknown. You can
also read and hear conversations between Commander Keen and Mortimer.
Very good! Then the last part that is there is, is what Criminal
Offences that Mortimer has done. Unfortunately, this section has
not been completed yet. It hopefully will be soon. That's it!
Louie14 is updating the site, and should have the new updates in, pretty
soon. Now you can read what Louie14 said about his site when asked.
The M-Files
was something I really did for no reason. I hated my
Commander Keen site because half of it was when I
was just beginning web pages, and the other
half when I was a bit experienced. I didn't want to start
over, (even if I edited it it would still be bad), becuase I didn't
really have the time, or commitment, and I didn't
want another failure
[the Embassy]
So, I decided to abandon the embsasy, and make my own secret
page, just to get some practice.
I needed
an idea, and as alot of things do with me, the idea came to me while
I was in bed. I was thinking about keen for some reason when I thought
of M.M. Then, it hit me; nobody has ever done a Mortimer Mcmire
bibliography. I never did fall
asleep that night.
So the
next day, I turned on the computer. Using Tom Baily as an example,
who I might add, has taught me just about everything I know about
this sorta stuff, I decided to make my page simple. I had this crazy
idea with the embasssy that if I crammed enough little pictures
in, it would be a great site. Yeah right. So I began
making my buttons, my moving pictures (the
keen jogging on the spot, and mortimer "the dj), my
transcripts, and my audio file (I still deny thats my voice!).
Than I
began as just a Mortimer Mcmire bibliography, when out of the blue
I thought about making it an FBI headquarters (thats weird for a
canadian boy like me), and before I knew it it was
the M-Files.
Then, since I only had like 3 days left in
the trial version, I crammed the tile picture,
and the M-Files
official symbol.
As I mentioned
before, I didn't really want people to see this (don't ask why)
but I told about 5 people, and in a flash I was on Dopefish Nine's
webpage with big red letters saying NEW
SITE!: RECOMMENDED! But just like
alot of things, the good faded. I lost interest, just like the embassy
and I also lost time. But, people started nagging me about when
I was going to update the M-Files,
so I just got so frusterated that I gave in.
And now slowly but surely I started to update it. Although nothing
new has been posted yet, it soon will be.
One last
thing, Who was that one person who voted for the Embassy as best
keen site on the Vorticon VI poll?
