When Keen first landed on the Shadowlands, he was rather
disappointed, for the reports of strange and interesting rocks
he had heard from different reliable sources didn't seem to be true;
aside from a little extra protein, the rocks in Border Village were
hardly different than the rocks on good ol' earth!

However, Keen decided to keep looking, and maybe something would
turn up. It was not until he was studying some soil samples in the little
village known as "Hillville" that he actually discovered something was...
a little different about these rocks.

Keen thought he heard a noise. He looked around, and all he could was a
stunned poison slug and some plain ol' rocks. "Hey..." he thought "Weren't those
rocks... over there?" but he dismissed it quickly.

A second timehe heard a noise- different, and louder. It sounded like a rock
falling from the sky. "Wha...?" He loooked up just in time! Several "rocks" with
evil eyes and thin, tawny legs were descending upon him at breakneck speed!
Instinct grabbed hold of him, and in a split second he threw himself out of
way, at the same time discharging his neural stunner several times into the air.
The rocks fell on the ground next to him with a "plink, plink".

Keen shrugged. Well, at least I got the strange rocks I was looking for!

Keen continued studying the rocks for some time and ended up capping them
"mimrocks" he discovered that their outside surface was harmless, but inside
was a deadly poison that the neural stunner served as an antidote for.
He also discovered that the rocks were cowards, and would only jump when their
victim's back was turned.

"They sound alot like Mortimer McMire," pondered Keen,
"only these guys are better looking."

The two caves on the north end of the Shadowlands proved a haven for mimrocks,
mostly because of camouflage, so much of his time was spent in the Cave of the
Descendants and The Chasm of Chills.
