Character Creation Contest
Lets have a contest to see who can make the best new Keen enemy or character. It could be like the Keen Awards, and there would be 2 categories: animated and still. I'll volunteer to make a medal for the winner. Anyone who wants to enter can e-mail me here: KaptinKrump@netscape.net and I'll post the pictures via my site. Good luck to everyone who enters.

You could call it a sneak peak, or you could just not enter it. Either way, you'll get credit for doing the art, but its up to you. I'm in the same situation (ie: The Keen enemy I made up will play an important part in Keenbound), and I've decided to make a new enemy instead, even if it is less colorful.

To clarify this for everyone, if your picture is able to get to my e-mail, you're qualified. It doesnt matter if you used a scanner, did it on the computer, or used black magic .
Also, if you want to, you can make more than one entry.

 He looks like he would be in a Keen level that is completely dark, along with a host of barely visible comrades. Hm... mabye I should put that in Keenbound. Thanks for the idea, and nice monster!

Edit: I made a nickname for it so we can keep track. I call it the Gnostician Ice beast, because the top of its head looks just like the top of a Gnocstice ancient's head. Remember, this is just MY nickname, not an official name by the creator. Brian didnt give me a name for it.

Not really. :P BTW, it's two legs and lack of arms are kinda similar though. It tries to run over Keen in it's electrified roller, and only follows the Fleebl treat suspended in front of him, which will switch directions to follow Keen.

I've decided that the deadline for entries will be July 31st.
That way, everybody who wants to will have time to make an entry. At that time, I'll set up a thread where we can vote. Polls are too short, so you can each state your vote. It wont be anonymous, but it will be accurate. If you cant decide, you may vote for two, but no more than that. At the end, I'll tally up the votes and set up a poll if there's a tie. There will be awards for first and second place in the categories of Animated and Still art. Happy Keening!

I've changed my mind and decided to post my prized creature, the Dopera:
 
He's going to be a boss in Keenbound, so look for him. Here's the description:
The Dopera is a Dopefish that was genetically engineered by Mortimer for the sole purpose of purpose of prividing a little extra "entertainment." Mortimer does love to watch Keen squirm.
ComputerWrist entry: The Dopera, a Genetically altered Dopefish, is quite possibly the most deadly aquatic creature in the universe. Proceed with extreme caution! Its jaws are capable of crushing steel, and the pad behind its fin can generate an electric current powerful enough to stun or kill any creature within a hundred square feet. However, its many massive teeth, and the scarcity of calcium in much of its prey has led to severe Osteoporosis (well, at least I know Keen would get that joke).
I'm going to provide a fully animated "chomping" pic soon.

You can use it, although ive already given it to someone else to use in there fan game. If keen 4-6 ever becomes modable, i will probably use it also. I dont think i have GIF animator. If you can animate it for me that would be great.

Since I know Marky a bit and know some things about his fan game, I was near to say accidentally in that "What Keen enemy would you like to play as most?" topic that Marky is making a game that is really vorticon related, but managed to stop myself.

Well, I have 6 right now if you count the two pictures under Veilost as one entry, which is how I would like them to be since it's the same thing just different colors for day and night, so if I can only have 5 the don't count the lavalit, it wasn't great anyways.

Bahaha. I'm lovin' these characters! Gonna be a close contest.
Anyway, here's my entry--the Garthurian monks that are going to appear in Commander Keen: Monky Business. I also drew up a scene that I'd created on paper while designing the mod, just for random amusement.
I might actually animate the monk if I can find a GIF program before time runs out to officially enter.
The forums won't let me post images for some reason, so they're up on the JimSoft Lair along with the rest of the mod.
