Yorphius II is released!

Well, could I write something here? Ok.

Well, mod making can be sometimes hard, sometimes fun. This was sometimes annoying to fix some texture bugs from levels with buggy KMO2. Everytime I had to insert sprites again, again and again. But it was really fun too, to try and see what happens. I had/have so much ideas, but I just couldn't put example space stuff in to Yorphius II. So, maybe after the next project, I will make another mod. Somekind of space mod, I'll try there some ideas I have in my mind.
Well, now when this mod is ready, I feel that first time in my life I have done something well. Ofcourse I don't mean this is good. I'm sure that most of you people hate this and almost kill me because this. But I don't care. I'm just so happy. :)
Really big thanx to Andrew for his great Commander Keen utils, without them this could never happen. Big thanx to makers of KMO2 too.. Though it have some bugs, but it's handy. And once again thanx to Andrew, because he converted the finale picture in to CK1-format. Thanx to everyone for your comments about beta version, they gave me hope. Or something.

Bye for now, I'm going to sleep. :) Well, not yet but after many hours ofcourse. :) Erm, what I'm talking. Well, I don't know.

Now play, you Keeners! It can be little bit of hard, for even me, but I have tested the levels many times and you can finish them all, and collect all the goodies.

Donuts are new, and text is purple still, but I think you don't die about that. I'll post some screenshots when I have time.

In the name of all that is sweet and heavenly, this rules! This is one of the best keen projects I've had the joy of playing. I think that more people definitely need to jump on the wagon and do some keen 1 modding! One point, though, a few of your levels are really hard, not that I'm complaining mind you, but I was uttering some naughty words a few minutes ago. Great game!

This mod really kicks ass! Although I agree with Slasher, as the levels are pretty hard to beat.

Hmmm.. Are you sure you have unzipped the files in to blank and clean Commander Keen 1 folder (where the files are unmodified)? There should be Commander Keen 1's own sounds.

The sounds do sound disgusting on my computer as well.. but i have the feeling that same thing applies to the original keen1 game as well.
anyways, i just finished your game :) . it was challenging and had nice simple graphics. took a few hours, but oh well.. nice to have challenging levels once in a while :) .
thx for going through the trouble of making us the Mod, K-Rush!

Great job, KeenRush--lots of hacking and re-text-i-fying... or something. lots of work, either way :-) i'm impressed. your levels were INCREDIBLY hard. i guess i'm not Keen enough for them. someday i will go back and try them without the Super Powers... but i didn't make it very far without them ;-)

i've only recently starting doing the hacking stuff to change the menus and spacebar status screen... i wasn't sure how to do it before, but i've got a much better idea now, thanks to you! hopefully my mod can be improved now.

btw, one of the first few levels i believe was level16, right? i could tell because the green swampy-monster thing was unable to be killed with the meager shots i had onhand. made the level quite difficult, but nothing above the normal difficulty.. *gulp*

thanks for putting in all the time. your graphical changes were nice, and your level designs certainly rank up there with the other packs on CC314 with difficulty rating "Sadistic Bastard" :-)

Thanks Xky! Well, you're right.. It's level 16. I really wanted to use those "vorticons that you can't kill with small amount of ammo" somewhere. :)

Excellent! Really great work... I especially liked Mortimer McMire's robot-thing -- that level was tough, but great!

And:

I FOUND THE DOPEFISH!! :dopefish

AND I FOUND KEENRUSH TRAPPED IN A LEVEL!! 8)

i found the dopefish too--by complete accident lol

i found the first secret area by total accident, and then i figured the secret level looked a little small, so i searched, and tada! very nice easter egg, KeenRush :-D

i went back and played without GodMode for as far as i could get... there were a few levels that i absolutely cannot for the life of me do. but i got through at least 3/4 of them. a very strong offering challenge-wise.

i'm very impressed with the amount of time you spent on this! way to go, dude :-)

Maybe we should tell Joe about the Dopefish, he might put it up on dopefish.com.

Right now I’m playing though part of the game, and after I’ve completed the whole game I’ll tell you about some of the problems I found; so far i haven’t really found any. Here’s the two I’ve found,

1 - The in game files, like the help file should be editing to be proportional to the new text
2 - When I went to the secret level the edge of the map was showing

later :)

Thanks for comments, I really like that Mortimer idea myself too.. :) When I hadn't used that robot yet, I got an idea. Mortimer is back again though Keen destroyed his legs.
And Forge, yes, I know that 2. thing too.. :) I tried to fix it but I couldn't. You can read about it in the readme.txt.

Dude those are tough levels! Very nicely done, BTW, I unzipped it into a completely new directory, but I have funky sounds... did you Mod the sounds too?

maybe the messy sounds were a result of the additional .exe file? i was a little surprised to see a Yorphius.exe in the zip... O_o;;

sound worked great for me--no problems here.

btw, KeenRush--i really like what you did to the Gargs. i don't know what you named the pink guys, but their looking-around animation is spectacular :-D

your Mortimer level was extremely creative as well--i never would have thought of anything like that! nicely done.

One problem with the sounds could be that you forgot the file (sounds.ck1) in your zip file. I put a copy of the original sounds.ck1 into the dir with you mod and the sounds worked fine.

About the sounds.. Well, I was :evil (evil) and modified exe and etc.. But like I wrote in to readme.txt, you have to replace the files of original and unmodified Commander Keen 1. Then there is sounds..
To Forge: Your new pic is a bit scary. :)

You people with sound problems didn't unzip the mod into a directory with an original Keen 1...you're supposed to, which is why your sounds are screwed up.

Well, Keenrush thank you for welcoming me at the forum, my response is a little bit late but this is because I didn't check the other Keen stuff topics any more :o . But now I have played the game and I still think it is so so, However there also very good things in the game like the mortimer robot :eek , the old temples, and the meat eating plants. However I think that it is better that if an enemy (or Keen self) falls in the water and there is nothing under him, he should dissapear. What wasn't in your game. Ladders are an original idea but since you can only up and not down it works irritating to me. My biggest problem whith this modpack are graphics which I mostly(!) don't like, but this is just a matter of taste ;) . I'm sure you've spent much time in making this modpack and because almost everyone liked it I think it was worth making it ;) .

I know but I'm more interessted in Keen fangames :) , however the modpacks of you and Xky showed me that making modpack include more than just replacing of just one enemy. ;)
