Vidlar Flak, Forge315, and Geoff?
Does anyone know what happened to either of the three?

Joseph is Forge, Geoff hasn't been around for ages, and I'm not sure about Vidlar.

I haven't seen Vidlar since I left 5 years ago, if I'm thinking of the right guy.

"HEY, YOU STOLE MY NAME!"
Remember that thread from the insidetheweb forum?
I can still remember my response too:
"I didn't steal your name, I simply used an anonymous character from Keen 2000"
wow, that takes me back...
When I was so ignorant of the internet that I didn't know how to post pictures.:b
Remember Bloogology?
Oh, and did Yorpology ever get off the ground? I know Thea was suggesting it, but I never really followed it.

Yeah, I remember Bloogology 314, but I never saw it. And I don't remember a thing about yorpology...

Err..yeah let's all talk about how moronic we were back in the day.. :stoned :smokin2

I'm more curious as to what happened to Snortimer. He went away on vacation, made one post 30 days later, and then disappeared seemingly forever.

Wasn't he part of "Vapor Industries"?
They released the first Norp the Yorp game (or some other game where you played a Yorp and had to rescue Keen). I remember it in particular because it was one of the few non-cnc games at the time.

Snortimer was a moderator at one point.

One thing that sticks in my mind was the inkblot game by Mantis that he lost the source of so it was never finished. Anyone still have it?

Re: Vidlar Flak, Forge315, and Geoff?
Ah... good ol' VaporTech. At one point, we had a message posted saying that we were working on about 25 games or so... 90% of them were just ideas that Pimento had. Those were the days. *reminisce*

ROAYS WAS made in The Games Factory, just so you know. As for Vidar, last I heard he was working on a Norwegian Christian site called mannacafe.net, but it was down the last time I saw it. And to the person who asked about Yorpology, I know someone made one at one point, but I forget who.

Re: Vidlar Flak, Forge315, and Geoff?
I was an extreme archivist in the past. I used to copy whole sites into word, and carefully align the pictures so they looked just right (I have the original CC314 and Bloogology lying around on disk somewhere in the attic. Nowadays I just click file-save when I want to archive a site.

Speaking of archives, here's a joke from the Ilsoap archives:

Geoff is very bussy right know with school and has no time for the boards anymore. He came back once to tell us that he was very glad that everything was still around.

Snortimer was an admin, wasn't he? But he went to Russia for some reason and never really came back to the forum.

Too bad I haven't been here so long (I mean on the previous boards and so on).. Well, to the point(s).

Snortimer, hmmm.. I think I remember him - if I remember correct he disappeared quite soon after I joined (Hey, wait a second!).. He also visited Finland on his trip.. :mortlol

Well, and Flak. I e-mailed him once, maybe something half a year ago, and he told that he just wasn't interested and had other stuff to do, like web-designing (and seems that he really can do that). :)

Re: Vidlar Flak, Forge315, and Geoff?
Yeah, Vidar (sans l) is/was amazing with webdesigns...

And about the only good thing that came out of VTI was ROAY[DS], the Spork series. Of course, we had our share of promising games - FarMars that I was making, Glip (the colourless inkblot - if you *really* want it, I still might have it somewhere) and some other things.

Please hold on for further information.

Edit below:

Man, was that a trip down memory lane... I kind of miss the seeming unity we had... OTOH, that could be just me romanticising. I encourage you to read a bit on the Members-Only forum (seems that there is no password on it anymore - weird), if only to see our failed plans...

Well, anyway, the last mail I have from TSM indicates that the password skould be 'blueearplug'. Tell me if it works.

As I was browsing through the old mail, I found the MIDI Ilsoap had made for FarMars. Good times!

God, that VT board's old, I get chills looking at it…I wasn't a member of VT although I do remember there being another board and a VT website, both had black backgrounds and a purple like theme. Do any of you have a link to either of those two places?

I feel oddly like an archaeologist looking through the secrets of the old board. I just read through the early development of Shadowlands, and am surprised at how different it was in the initial concept.

Re: The old place, more like home than you thought it would
I was considering making a big long reminiscing topic about all the VTI stuff and the info in there about Shadowlands and ROAYS and stuff, but it would probably get long, and I'd be talking about myself for awhile (which gets annoying when other people do it too much), so I'll just leave it there.

Oh, and I have the FarMars MIDI file, although it's not really that big of a thing.

VaporTech... *edges away* Though I must say that ROAYS and Glip were both exceedingly awesome, though neither of those had anything to do with the group as a whole.

Yorpology (and a few other -ologies) were done by Tom/Mantis. After some google searching though, they don't seem to exist anymore. I get a lot of AngelFire's insanely humorous 404 errors. Yes, that was sarcasm.

Yeah, I remember Mantis telling me he was Quest King as well on ICQ back in the day. He didn't want anyone to know for some odd reason :\ Think there was some bad blood between him and hinkle0/The SoggyMop/Pimento/Orb/Shikadi Salad or something. At least that's what he said.

And Hinkle0 I did get most of the -ology pages back from archive.org, just not all the pics. I think the locations are:

www.spatang.com/mirrors

I remember joining VT, then never doing anything for them. I used to go into the members board for the longest time even though I had quit VT. Finally I had the password changed... something about guppies if I remember right.
