RKP3 Download Tell me what you think about it. It's a large download though(8MB) but then you get a game with 31 levels and 364 trophies. I wonder who beat it first and what his time was. My record is 7 hours for 100% completion and 1 hour to beat the game. THE CONES HAVE LANDED!

The game uses 2 DLLs: div32run.dll and smooth.dll One is in the main directory and the other is in the dll directory(if this dll was in the main directory it would be imported twice and that's something you don't want to have). Tell me which one is missing. div32run.dll or dll\smooth.dll? Yes, I know you can easily modify these files. But the reason I did not encrypt/compress them is that I thought nobody would be so cheap to do that(it's more fun to get them the proper way). But it's a nice collection, isn't it? Yes, the game does not run in Windows XP. They're working on a Windows version of Div Games Studio and that one should be finished in July. I might remove some bugs I missed(I already found out I missed out one thing. It's in the level Dark Mountains. I knew this already two months ago, but I always skipped that bug, even though it's easy to solve. And not it's still in the game ). As for Keendarts: I could easily beat all 3 computers, but the hardest trophy(for me) is to shoot a nine-darter. Was the last trophy I got without cheating. THE CONES HAVE LANDED! S3 Vortininja Posts: 110 (3/8/03 8:45 pm) 203.109.254.59 Reply \| Edit \| Del	Re: The cones have landed! a firewall is a program to protect a computer(or in some cases, a whole network) from hackers, (sometimes) viruses, and even disallow access to bad sites it's really annoying when ur behind one that disallows access to any sites other than ones that are set... it's better for the users(but not as secure) when the firewalls keep out certian stuff instead of only allow certian stuff i had one on my computer once, and i deleted it(couldn't properly uninstall or delete the main exe, but deleting some other nessecary files disabled it) because it blocked access to e-mail and chat sites, and a lot of other things(it was only intended to block adult sites, which i haven't run into since some idiots were spamming my ezboard, and that was ages ago - the only other USEFUL feature of it was to filter out ad banners) http://scomps.freehomepage.com/ <---S-Computers Home Page

Are you sure you aren't missing any other files? There should be about 150 files(because of 128 sound files that is). And if only one file is missing it won't load(well without the help-file it will but pressing F1 will freeze the game). May be if www.commanderkeen.net hosts it it would be faster to download. But I had no other choice then placing it there. Geocities is a little bit faster, but it makes my zip-files corrupt because it keeps adding the same extra bytes to the zip-file and still don't know why. As for Windows XP: you might have luck with a Windows 98/Dos Emulator, but it's not sure if the game runs with decent speed then(if it runs at all). Emulating a Dos game asks for a decent computer. There was one possibility which works but it's rather stupid. You have to use a program to run Windows 98 in XP and start it in Windows 98. Now anyone who does not have problems with downloading nor playing the game: what do you think? And how is the progress in the game? Easy game, isn't it? THE CONES HAVE LANDED!

If you try it from a computer on school/university then I don't think you can disable the firewall. I would ask it then. But if you're home then you must have installed that firewall yourself (or one of your family members). Most firewalls have an option to change the security priority. Yes, the game isn't easy and Dark Mountain is one of the harder levels in the game. And if you think that's dark, there's a darker level in the game. I hear the game is good, but I don't hear any progress of people telling who far they are in the game. So is the game really that hard? On Div-Arena(the site of Div Games Studio) they could only get past the first 3 levels and most of them can't even get past level 2. THE CONES HAVE LANDED! Yes, I already told you, I can`t find this file smooth.dll, after I put it on my PC... it always hides itself in the directory... so it seems the file was downloaded with the rest of the game, but my computer just can´t found it... I ask me, if that problem can be solved!!!???

After all some of them are so obvious that they are merely funny. And the game certainly has original, fresh ideas. An illegal operation? Hhhmm.. that's a new one. What Windows version do you have? And files hiding themselves? What kind of weird computers do you have. Doesn't it work in any other directory? May be it helps if you erase any .pif-files. If they're linking to the wrong directory and not to the RKP3 directory it would search to these files in the wrong directory. That's the only thing I can think of. Or may be it has to with the batch-file. So if you started the batch-file once you can easily start RKP3 the next time by running RKP3.exe. Did that work? The only thing the batch file does is first running strkp3.exe(which initializes missing settings file) and then running RKP3.exe(the game). They aren't Pikmin, but Digmin and they bring back these carcasses to a Cauliflower, not an Union. Someone found another parody. Let me give one small idea which might make level 4 easier. So basically it's just a matter of taste. Don't forget that originally I was not planning to make another Keen game, but because some of you said I should do a sequel, I did do a sequel. And as my original plan was to make a game with lot's of parodies you get a Keen game with lot's of parodies. Keencount was originally planned to be removed, but I couldn't find a proper replacement. Even though I was planning to change it in a karting-game. I might add it in the extended edition though. In fact some things were already removed from the final game. The second midboss battle and third midboss Battle were swapped and then the second midboss battle(who was originally the third) is removed and replaced by a new midboss battle. Somewhere in the game you can still play the original(which was a Pokemon parody) but that's hidden very well. Just like the Conefish getting changed in a Dopefish or that the trees in the levelmap have snow on their leaves. I bet nobody find out how. Working on a guide right now. Dark Mountain is my favorite level. Have you beaten it already S3? If you haven't: it's better to play this level with no lights in the room on and the curtains closed. It's easier to see then. Especially the part with that Cone Guard coming at you is tough(if you haven't found out, you can defeat a Cone Guard with only one shot when it's raising it's sword). And about the level editor: the game is already capable of running custom levels. If you select difficulty use up and you might find out you can play custom levels. There are 2 small custom levels already made. And if I'm right S3 can already play the 2nd one, not the 1st one as you're not far enough in the game yet. THE CONES HAVE LANDED! S3 Vortininja Posts: 150 (3/14/03 5:56 am) 203.109.254.59 Reply \| Edit \| Del	Re: RKP3 yep, i've seen the custom level option and no, i haven't finished the game yet and another thing that may help is if i use my other monitor... it displays a bit brighter than this one i'm using right now(that's with it not set up to maximum, but the current one set up to maximum) the only darker level in a game i've ever played is a Ducks level i made called the Dark Room... if it was any darker even the brightest monitor couldn't do much of a display on it(well that's an exagguration sort of, but u know what i mean) oh, and scrolling tower's an original idea... i've never seen something exactly the same before... i've seen rightwards scrolling(and probably leftwards as well), and i've seen upwards but it moves only when you do - congrats on that one oh and something about RKP2 - you've got some good anti-edit security on your default levels, i still haven't managed to find a way to edit them oh, and there seems to be one default level(54 i think) u can't get to, it seems to be part of Shikadinvincible - how do u(or another person) get to this one http://scomps.freehomepage.com/ <---S-Computers Home Page

But if I recall the source code of RKP2 I thought there was a byte telling the levelnumber. And it had a specific value to tell it's a custom level. The clock ticks should be 3 or 4. And the minimum: I think 300mhz, but then the larger levels and the levels using special FX should be a little bit slower but probably not less than 20fps(so the clock ticks should be aroud 5 then). But the first levels shouldn't give any problems. Oh yeah, I found a little problem with RKP3 that you can't get every trophy. Because of using the replace value function more values has been changed than were intended and now trophy 302 can't be gotten as a daily trophy. A fixed smooth.dll is already made. Only have to upload it. But if you don't think you'll ever beat this game, you don't need to download it. RKP series is cursed: people keep comparing it with Isis 2

Try out F10+J and you'll find out what I mean. But now I checked Keen 4 and that seems it's not the case. May be it depends on the version I have though(version 1.0 and 1.4). S3 stop saying that RKP3 is better. It sounds childish. I know it may be difficult to understand, as I use big words like "dude", but not only was I poking fun of S3, but also commenting on what he said (which had to do with Isis and RKP3, which made it, therefore, ON topic), but I also made sense while I was at it, which is what I guess "no nonsense" means (being a double negative and all). and to top it all off, I think it was quite funny too. Although, maybe a bit over your heads? I don't see how, as it's a pretty basic comparision between S3's comments and comment style and that of those stereotypical conspiracy theorists. Next time add a part which is serious, not funny. You could still keep the "funny" part in it. About the jumping: the animation in my Keen 6 version is that if you jump it uses the first picture and when you're around the apex it uses the 2nd picture and when falling it keeps switching between the 2nd and 3rd picture. So Xtraverse is halfway right and is entirely right if you talk about Keen 4. I never noticed any differences in animation between Keen 4 and 6 until now. Being invincible is fun for may be a few seconds, but not for the entire game. There is a way to patch RKP3 by writing a Div-based DLL which autoloads himself if it's in the same directory. With some simple code you could easily make yourself invincible. In fact there is invincibility code inside, but you can't acces it anywhere in the game. If Dopefish is for real, what would it be evolved from?

It runs fine in the final release(previous beta versions had some slowdown). What kind of computer do you have? If Dopefish is for real, what would it be evolved from?
