Classical is rather boring..although a sparse few pieces I do like.

I mainly like a wide variety of rock (anywhere from System of a Down to Puddle of Mudd to SR71) and techno (such as Chrystal Method, Fatboy Slim, Barcode Brothers, Darude, etc..).

Hip-hip is really annoying, although not quite as annoying as pop.

Apperently, a T.V show called 'Comedy Inc.' did a parody of one of his songs. The new version had Eminem locking his mum in a closet. (I think the original was something to do with him cleaning out his closet)

Anyway, I'm not to sure about this because I didn't actually see, just told about it. Maybe someone else saw it?

Eminem is okay. I just reckon he's too popular. His songs aren't very original. The beats suck and the songs are probably written in like 5 minutes or less.

I mean, Lose Yourself and Sing for the Moment sound practically the same. And the Music Videos are $hit!

Without Me, I must say was catchy. And so is Slim Shady. The rest of them $uck!

I dunno about Australia or New Zealand, but there's something in America called free speech. Although you may not agree with Shockshund (nor do I), he has every right to say Eminem is cool. For me, I don't really like Eminen much, but I listen to another rapper who sounds just like Eminen. His name is KJ52, he wrote a song to Eminem called, "Dear Slim" on his first album and is coming out with a new album with "Dear Slim Part 2". I heard someone gave KJ's CD to Eminem and the video to that song too. It's a song talking to Eminem about his role in society and how it has a negative spin on things. It's good stuff.

Plus, KJ is a really good rapper and has positive lyrics. If you want to check him out, it's www.kj52.com, I suggest you check it out if you don't exactly like Eminem that much.

What's wrong with music and religion? The messages most rock bands and rap artists have out there is about sex, drugs, and violence. I know for a fact that parents don't want their kids listening to crap like that from Ja Rule, 50 Cent, Korn, Limp Bizkit, and all those other groups. Christian/Alternative music is there for those who want to listen to some quality music and for a refuge or "alternative" to today's crap music that is rate so high for nothing.

Funny you should say advertising, because that's not exactly true. The artists may be doing that, but they themselves have committed their talents, whether it be singing, playing an instrument, etc, to worshiping and praising the one and only God who made them and gave them those talents. Now, as the moral question, what would you rather listen to? Eminem singing about killing his mom and raping some girls or would you rather listen to a guy like KJ52 who sings upbeat lyrics, good tunes, and has a positive message. Not all alternative music is advertising a religion.

Speaking of Eminem, you should have seen the rapping Frodo in the masquerade at Archon (my local science fiction/fantasy convention). It had something to do with the LOTR, and the guy had made up new words to every bit of that new song, whatever it is, plus a little 'Stan' interlude. It was a good four or five minutes long.

C'mon, you're old enough that it's time to grow up.

I wish you would stop advocating murder. No matter who gets killed, their life was every bit as valuable as your own. Just because you find his music objectionable, his lifestyle objectionable, and his beliefs objectionable, you seem to think that it makes him less of a person. That's not true. He feels, just the same as you or I.

I propose a different solution. Eminem should get some therapy. He's definately a little crazy, because of whatever it was that happened to him in his past. Things that happen when you're young stick with you, it's a fact.

Instead of attempting to obliterate things that invade our cheerful Christian worldview, why don't we attempt to fix them in a way that results in something greater than the source material? Killing someone for a reason like that as ridiculous an idea as cutting off your toe because you stubbed it. "Oh no! my toe is no longer perfect, therefore it shall be cast into the pit!" isn't my kind of solution to a problem.

When God told us not to murder, He didn't mean that we should not murder our fellow believers, he meant exactly what he said. He meant murder NO ONE.

Violent shouting has never, ever, convinced anyone to switch sides in an arguement. The only way for an idea to prevail is for its supporters to back it up in a reasonable and intelligent manner. More likely then not, that means listening to the other side so you can refute what they say in well thought out discourse. I could say, "You no kill!" a thousand times, and would even a half wit listen to me? NO! The essence of persuasion has nothing to do with who can cry out the loudest.

I don't think we can call a person evil. Just as no human can be truly good, no person can be truly evil. It is not within our power to reach either extreme. There is something we can do. We can go astray from the moral path. We can go horribly astray. The good side is that even a person who is hopelessly lost can be led back by someone who knows the way. There is absolutely no reason to give up on a person and declare them as good as dead.

I don't know if you've ever heard his song by the name of "Stan," but it's a perfect refute to the statement "he has no respect for anything good." It's about a fan of his who never got a reply fom him. Most of the song consists of this guy's fan letters to Eminem, showing the way he's sliding of the deep end, eventually driving off a bridge with his girlfriend locked in the trunk. The song ends with Eminem's abortive letter back (he was apparently buried under a pile of mail, figuratively speaking). He breaks off as he realizes that the suicide he saw on the news was this Stan guy. The point I'm trying to make is that he's a caring person, as much as you are. He may not live as perfecly as you do, maybe a far cry from it (of course, you recommend murder), but he has good impulses in him. Just like you have terrible impulses to go along with your good ones, he has a counterpoint to his f***ed up stuff too.

I think Eminem is quite normal person, but too bad the behavior of his makes good money these days and that he wants. Money and fame, can there even be a famous artist that wouldn't do anything to get more of those?

Maybe the best thing to do could be stop and remove all the sounds from this world. At least that could solve one problem, and add a lot more. :P
