What is the hardest Keen game?
I personally think that it's Keen 2. Especially the last level! If you think it's Keen 6, just reply. |

The last level in Keen 2 isn't hard...
The ninja level in Keen 3 is harder, but Keen 3 is easier overall because you only have to complete three levels to win, one of which is a total pushover.

Keen 3
Most people said that Keen 3 was the hardest. It's actually very easy. Like adurdin said, u only have to beat 3 levels. In case anyone doesn't know, here is the easy way to beat Keen 3:
When you start, beat the city that is on your right and after that use the teleporter behind it. There should now be another level blocking access to a teleporter. Beat that level and go through the teleporter. You should be at a place with 3 teleporters. Go through the one on the far right. You should be at a place with a city and another teleporter. Don't bother beating the city and go immediately through the teleporter. You are now on McMires island. To easily beat the mountain level, just go up the side of the mountain at the beginning. Now all you have to do is beat the Mangling Machine and you're done!

You don’t need to explain it, and they were talking about all the other levels (well at least that’s why I voted Keen3).
When I first played Keen3 I played it the short way, because I have a sister that was playing it too and I wanted to beat it first. I’m vary crazy that way, it’s my game so I beat it first and I’m always the best at it, NO WAY ANYONE BEATS MY GAME BEFORE ME!… hee.

Actually...
I changed my mind, I think it's Keen 5. It's the only one I can't beat without god mode, and it's also the only Keen game where you have to beat every single level.

No, I don't really...
I vote Keen3 the hardest; I haven't beat it yet without god mode... shame on me.
The only Keen games I've beat without god mode are...
Keen1, Keen4, Keen5 (I'm pretty sure I did, anyway), Keen6, and I have no idea about Keen Dreams.. no, wait, I did beat it! It's been a long time since I've played Keen Dreams.
I don't think I'm good enough yet to beat Keens 2&3 without cheats, but I think it's past time I checked them again and found out...

I finally beat K5 w/o godmode, but it's definitely the hardest of all the Keen games.

It must be Keen 2 or 3, IF you choose to go through ALL the levels.
Keens 4-6 are pretty easy even on the hard level, I completed all of them in a weekend.

I reckon the hardness of each episode for each person really depends on how familiar they are with that episode: I consider 5 & 6 to be harder than 1,2,3,4, because I have hardly played them, whereas I've played 1,2,3 and 4 many times, and completed each level.

What does FlameBroiledChicken mean with the mountain level? I can´t go up the mountain in the beginning. After a bit it is just too high even for my pogo. Any advice?

When it gets too high, you'll see a cloud to the left which you must pogo onto, then you can get over the mountain.
And it's no use trying to get through the mountain: it's a dead end.

Say, are you sure its a ded end?
If u decide to go down past the outside eterance in the mountain and jump down, u can see 4 coloured doors that need keys, and an exit door in the middle of the mountain. (I haven't gotten my hands on that level map yet so I'm not sure).

I am positive: if you look at that part again, you will see that just after those four doors are two sets of spikes, one on the floor and one on the ceiling (in the same column), with *only one block* between them -- Keen is more than one block high, so he won't fit through -- he'd die trying.
I will actually say that I have never tried to go in the mountain without god mode on -- I saw the "go up" sign, went up and over the first time I played it.

I actually got the Keen games in this order: 1, 6, 4+5, 2+3, so 3 was the last of the games i actually beat without cheating... and even though i'd found the alphabet in Keen 6 no problem it never even dawned on me that it might apply to the first Trilogy... so i discovered the way around the mountain by desperate attempt :-) i tried going thru the level once normally, decided it was -really- hard, and since i was low on ammo, i figured they'd hide something up there... boy was i surprised when i found an exit ^_^ lol
ok so that was a too-long reply to a simple question, but heck... Xky's an idiot! :-D

Keen 4... It was the last one I beat (even though I had it like 3 years before I ordered the rest). I always got all the Gnosticene Ancients (sp?) except the one in the Well of Wishes. I could never avoid the Dopefish (until two years ago)... :P
