Unfortunately, due to restrictions of the website provider, the Bravenet link can only be accessed by a few people every day. If you don't get thru the first time, try again tomorrow. It's worth the wait, by golly!

Re: Billy's Dad's name?
On the first page Billy's dad's name is given incorrectly as William, but subsequently as Arthur...

You have outdone yourself. although, i'm not the right person to talk about your achievements. This story is really amusing.. but it gets too traumatic towards the end . i believe in commander keen. i can't accept his death either. .

Hurricane!
"CK:10 Years On" is on the www.3DRealms.com website now, and it has been causing a real stir there - in a good way, I mean. With their huge bandwidth, now anyone with the internet can view it anytime! Woo-hoo!
------------
I started drawing the comic some time around January the 14th... or 15th? Anyway, I was just drawing a bunch of pictures of the classic computer game characters being interviewed today (nerdy Cosmo, snobby Jill, brainy Dopefish, etc) and letting my subconscious assemble the overall story while I took notes on the history of Apogee/id Software and Commander Keen on a scrap of refill. Some of the pictures I drew then weren't included: Geriatric Major Stryker and his young wife, Yoshira; some more pictures of Tom Hall reminiscing about Keen; and one of Billy Blaze's bodyguards stopping Michael Jackson from getting Billy's autograph.
Almost a week later (I was busy with other stuff), after I'd coloured those pix, I began slotting them into the story that I was typing up into HTML by that stage. The storyline that I'd planned out next to the "actual" timeline of id Software's history went as far as Keen's trumphant return in the Megarocket followed by an explosive death - an event that I didn't end up using after all.
As the story kept going and getting more detailed, I kept drawing (and downloading) more pictures to insert into appropirate places until It Was Done. So it took just under two weeks. I was surprised at my own speed. But then, I did spend a WAY lot of time on it.
Hopefully the links to my own website (I included them in the credits!) will bring more visitors to my comics homepage... no more than 10 hits a day, currently. It used to be 30/day!

I especially like the second picture in the whole chain.. the one with "Drugs"-title. keen looks like a mad mushroom.
Well TMST, you deserve to be praised for that achievement. hope it brings you thousands of viewers each day

TMST, you're crazy. =) Meant in a good way, of course.
I don't particularly like the fact that you had to kill off the original Keen, but it does make sense, and it works. Ah well, I'm just me.
/me shudders to think what kind of game Keen would have been had TMST worked on it... (LOL)

Re: My greatest creation is completed!
That was a really funny cartoon! Great work as always!
(But how dare you disgrace the name of Commander Keen? Blasphemy! )
Oh, and by the way,
Quote: One for all you nerds who sit in Star Trek movies saying "That couldn't happen, it violates Heisenberg's laws of uncertainty" - In the picture of the Dopefish giving out autographs, there is a geek wearing a t-shirt with a Quake II logo on it. This is supposed to be taking place circa 1992-3... But wait a minute - Quake wasn't even released until 1996 and Quake II didn't come along until 1997! If you find any more of these anachronisms, feel free to flame me about it.
Since you asked for it... there is a picture that says "Berlin Wall, 1991".

Re: My greatest creation is completed!
The fact that Commander Keen gets into so much adult content does kinda ruin it for me (and did Billy's brother HAVE to have a sex change???) but all in all, it's an impressive piece of work.

i think my friend Dan summed this whole thing up for me. after i'd viewed about half of it, i sent him the link to it, and his response was
"Quite a hero you've got there, Xky."
^_^ i think that's about all that needs to be said there.
TMST, your art's got a definite flair, and suits itself well to Keen. congrats on being noticed by 3drealms and getting the series hosted on their page :-) that's incredible!
i still can't figure out the anagram of that one guy's name, though. *sigh* guess i'm not a true Keen fan :-P

I didn't particularly like that fact either - very sad. But this IS "one of those documentaries", so I thought I'd better push the limits as far as I could.
Quote: Berlin Wall - 1991
Quote:
On July 1 1990, an economic, monetary and social union between East and West Germany was formed, and all restrictions
concerning travels were dropped. The wall vanished almost completely until 1991; there are a few remainders at the Bernauer
Strasse, the Niederkirchnerstrasse ...
(from userpage.chemie.fu-berlin...wall.html)
Maybe I should've been more specific and said "Berlin Wall remnant" or something...

Re: Leon Winstef
I didn't get the point of this guy's name until someone mentioned anagrams.
I think his being the ringleader of Keen Three highly appropriate, however
Overall, great work, TMST!
I just noticed: in the picture showing Keen being marched out of his mansion by Keen Three, his helmet still has circles, although the helmet on the ground has G's.

It's meant to be a "G", but part of it is hidden by the curvature of Keen's helmet. The one on the ground just has its "G" in a thicker font...

Re: stupid anagrams...
Wow! I'm glad I decided to come and check out what was going on at the mbs today! That was awesome TMST! Great story and pictures! But I was wondering about one thing that was bothering me. In the movie poster about CK, that had the enemies on it, the Flect was shown holding a mirror? I always thought that the Flect just had large teeth! (Or a reflective plate chest thingy for Keen GBC). That a mistake? Or are those actually teeth, that I think is a mirror?

Re: stupid anagrams...
I have never seen the flect's reflector as his teeth. It looks like a beaked critter holding a mirror, to me... But then again, there are MANY mistakes in that movie poster. This is because:
a) Movies adaptations NEVER get things perfect
b) I was drawing from (my own puny) memory
Note that the Fleex(???) (AKA "Mutant Yorp") is not wearing sunglasses, his fangs ain't yellow, and his eye-on-a-stalk is actually meant to be an orifice of some sort in the game.
The Sparkies are kind of different, in the antennae department, I mean. And the blue/yellow 3-eyed creature on the far right is just something I made up to confuse y'all!

Re: stupid anagrams...
The Keen 6 manual talks about the Flect having a Big Bite...the enemy descriptions here, www.classicgaming.com/cc314/encyclopedia/enemies/enemies-k6.html, are taken directly from the manual.
