Bounders
Anyone else like the bounders from Keen 4? I think they're pretty cool, but I've noticed something. Every time one of them appears, there is a purpose for it being there. EVERY time.
Can anyone find a bounder that has no purpose whatsoever?

Re: Bounders
Aren't there two in the Perilous Pit? I know that one of them helps you get some points in a passage above him, but I think you can get the points with a well-executed pogo. And then above him, in the room with the blue gem, is another Bounder, which has no room to do anything important. There's probably more too.
Wowbagger barfs: Adam, you are a fylogenetically debauched bag full of magnificant pig hickies!

I hoped someone would mention that...
Believe it or not, that Bounder has a use as well (and it's funny!). Go up into the little room where the Bounder is bouncing. Kill the slug (if you're in hard mode). Now, it takes a bit of patience, but try and stun the bounder as it is bouncing directly over top of the pole going down. If you do it correctly the stunned bounder will be right overtop the downward pole.
Now here's the funny part. Jump onto the bounder. Now press the Down arrow. If you did it correctly, Keen can't go down the pole because the Bounder is blocking his path, so Keen just spins around in circles!
Try it. It's fun.

Re: I hoped someone would mention that...
I discovered that a LONG time ago; several years.

So did I
It's just that I noticed that no one else ever mentioned that.

Re: So did I
I'm not angry at you, I'm just pointing that out.
It was so long ago that I'm not even sure HOW I found out.
I might be the only one here who has figured it out besides you; I didn't mean that message to say that everyone knew that long ago and your message was useless, I was only reffering to myself.

No worries
I wasn't offended in the least, I knew what you meant.
I was just thinking about what Tom Hall had said in an interview; when asked if there were any secrets left in Commander Keen, he replied that with over 100,000 people playing the game, they've probably all been found.

Re: No worries
I noticed it too - but that's not the purpose it serves. The purpose it serves it to make it difficult to avoid the other enemies in there.
