Keen with Soundblaster!!!
I just wanted to announce that I got a crappy old 386 for 5 bucks in a garage sale, slotted my 9-year-old Soundblaster pro card into it, and o and behold, I now can play all my favourite Keen (and other Apogee) games with Soundblaster at last!

I have an old 486 33MHz. It has an AdLib compatible card, but I don't know any of the specs. It's always handy to have an old PC for th0s3 0ld g4m3z!

I've got a 386 in my bedroom, I use it for games which don't work on newer computers . It's also nice to hear the good ol' music from Keen (while playing the game, that is)

Join the club, Nospike!!
Unfortunately, there isn't enough memory to run the music for the Guard Post levels in Keen VI, or the music for the Korath III Secret Base.

Bummer. The Korath III secret base is my favorite tune! Have you tried a boot disk? (I use on of those old...big...ones...)

Re: Keen with Soundblaster!!!
I got a relatively new 98SE laptop that played the music for the Keens the first time I ever played them on that comp. I was quite stunned.

Well, my computer is old and the old one is _older_.

I have a pentium 166 that I use to play games. It's got some
Wavemaster card in it; top of the line a few years back.

"Commander Keen: Ten Years On" and the "Eat Your Veggies" comic were both made on a computer with a REALLY crappy mouse.

Music/sound with Windows ME
Hi everyone...this is my first time posting here, but I've been reading the posts for quite awhile, with great success in finding the answers I needed
So here's my current dilemma... As with so many others, my music & sound don't work on my "new, fabulous, fantastic, tremendous" computer...yeah, the one I paid a whole bunch of money for! I'm running Windows ME, which I hate anyway.
Apparently someone has been able to get the music & sound to work with ME...could you please elaborate on how you accomplished that? What on earth is "double boot"? I'll try to keep up, but I'm not the greatest when it comes to the technical stuff.
Any and all help would be appreciated! Thanks....
