As I think about it, this might not be so bad. David A. Palmer sucks, but id and Activision are overseeing the project too, right? So it can't be all that bad. And furthermore, the way the Game Boy's graphics are set up, its pretty much impossible to get a good-looking Game Boy screenshot. Keen looks bad and the cover art is horrible, but the game itself might turn out to not be so bad. I do, however, bet that there won't be a single thing from the previous games besides your rocket. I mean stuff like your pet Yorp and the Standard Galactic Alphabet. None of that. Or so I think.

I follow ya
I Am Keen, that's pretty much my expectations for the game as well. I'm hoping for at most a solid platformer with a pogo stick and neural stunner. I'm not getting my hopes up for SGA and pet Yorps and Tag, You're It. With any luck, we'll get about half of our wishes fufilled ;-) i'm still keeping a Keen eye on this one *grin* but no matter what happens, we must not give up. This one's gonna make or break the future of Keen.

MY EYES R GONNA BURN FROM LOOKING AT THAT GAMEBOY THING FOR MORE THAN 2 MINUTES. NOT ONLY THAT, THEY MADE KEEN UGLY!!!! hes got an oversized body, oversized and ugly face, etc. And i cant even tell whats foe and whats supossed to be deadly when you run into in the screenshots.....

Remember GBC can only have 3 color (+ white) sprites... sure, they did make Keen look worse than he does in the PC games, but they can't make it look the same... color limitations and resolution make that impossible. They could be better looking then they are, though, especially Keen himself. From some new screenshots (at pocket.ign.com ), I see there is a pogo stick, but Keen just doesn't look like Keen. Oh well, I'm just hoping for a decent to good platformer... having some of the SGA in it would seem required but may be omitted, and that would really be too bad... there would be less of an excuse for a hidden level to hide the alphabet in, for one.

If anyone saw the videos at IGN, the game didn't look too bad. Looked like a pretty good platformer, almost Keen-like. The only thing that baffled me was how the player was using so much ammo. He shot everything like 5 times, and in my opinion that's kind of a waste of ammo unless it's unlimited or something. Also another question to ponder, how are you going to use your pogo stick and jump and shoot if there are only two buttons (A and B)? I thought maybe if you held one button then it'd do pogo stick, but still it would make the impossible pogo trick even more impossible. Ah well those are just my ideas.

Use two-button firing. I play Keen with a two-button gamepad and use that technique. It does make the impossible pogo trick a little harder, but with some training it comes around easily.

Screenshot Did everybody see this? Who do you guys think it is? I was thinking Mortimer McMire but I don't remember him wearing black shades. Dunno, still the game doesn't look that bad. I'll probably pick it up to play on my GBA that I have.

Yep. That looks like Mortimire allright. If you look in the bottom left hand corner, you'll see some stanard galctic alphabet! For a little while there, I thought they weren't going to put it in.

I hadn't even noticed the SGA there. Kinda blocked by the IGN logo but still you can tell it's there. I don't think this game will be too bad....

yep...
yea GBA can play all GB and GBC games. in fact most of the games I've been playing on it have been GBC games. the only GBA game I have is Mario Advance. I guess I'll add Keen to my GBC collection though.
