Woah... CC314 mentioned in Time magazine.
Hey guys. Not sure if this is common knowledge or not, I looked around here quiclky and didnt see any posts about this, so I am gonna go ahead and post it here. If its a dupe, lmk.

Anyway, i was thinking about Isis recently, and how I should get off my @$$ someday and convert my win32 worminator editor to work on Isis maps. I have also beein looking forward eagerly to The Matrix Reloaded. The latest issue of Time magazine has a cover story on the new Matrix movies, so I grabbed a copy and started thumbing through it. When I get near the end of the article, I find this interesting paragraph:

"The MatrixReloaded is sure to fuel avid speculation. Scholars will note that the Merovingians were a European tribe from the Dark Ages, and that Morpheus paraphrases King Nebuchadnezzar in the Book of Daniel. That strange number, 314: Could it refer to pi (3.14); or to Cerebral Cortex 314, the website for the Commander Keen computer game; or to the lifetime batting average of White Sox outfielder Bibb Falk? As for the Architect's apparently crushing revelation: Couldn't this be another lie—the biggest?"

If your too lazy to read all that, here is the important part:

"Could it refer to pi (3.14); or to Cerebral Cortex 314, the website for the Commander Keen computer game"

Woah, I never expected to find CC314 mentioned while reading an article about the Matrix Reloaded in Time magazine. Its a damn small world...

Way to go eK and the rest of the staff here. Any idea how this reference got in there?

The address of the full article on Time's website is:

That'd be so strange if it refered to cc314... I really really doubt that's what it's refering to.

They obviously don't know that's keen's IQ, or they would have mentioned it rather than the site name.

I think they just did a google search on 314, and we were at the top (which we are).

Very odd, but also very neat. I have a feeling that he just typed 314 into Google and choose the most interesting results.

EDIT: Two second posting difference. Whee.

So is this reference in the printed mag? If so, cc314 ought to get a copy and scan the relevant page...

ARGH! It's a conspiracy people! :eek

Ilian is the first of the Dark Apostles, the Mistress of the Void. Her realm is that of mastery of the Dark Arts, the powers of the Dark Symmetry. She is a powerful sorceress, and is believed to be the single most powerful of all the Dark Apostles, though her armies pale in comparison to Algeroth, and her siblings conspire to usurp her position in the favor of the Dark Soul.
